Paul Goble has an interesting story about how the Soviet Union is coming back to Russian Internet. That is, an increasing number of Russian websites choose to have .SU (Soviet Union) extension instead of the normal .RU (Russia).
For example, the website of Putin's youth organization, Nashi is at nashi.su, instead of nashi.ru. They are still longing for the old Soviet Union. And, with Russia becoming more assertive militarily, it gets a bit scary...

Russian story it's very interesting, because it's amazing how many people died and specially in the way they died.
